| School Reflection |
Throughout my time at Stamford, as any other student, I often thought to myself; I can’t wait for this chapter in my life to be over. Everyday being swallowed by deadlines, figuring out who you are, losing friends, making friends, feeling lonely, and everything else a hormonal teenager experiences. Today, I appreciate and want to take a moment to thank the community I had around me at Stamford, from the college councillors, teachers, high school office, fellow classmates, etc. As I am continuing my studies further, the term culture is often brought up. Without a common culture, we are doomed for misalignment and misunderstandings. At times I felt it was up to us, the students, to create this culture amongst ourselves, as we come from different backgrounds with different norms and values.
I appreciate Stamford for letting students shape this culture, through contributing in different clubs and associations. All contributing value to the Stamford community. Throughout my years at Stamford, a common theme was often shared. This being a community. At times I found it hard to find this community that was often spoken of, I worked hard to involve myself in this community, and contributed with different departments and students to create a community based on the students best interest. This is where my gratitude for having the opportunity for community involvement comes into play. Involving myself made me feel empowered to discover my passions, and see this educational institution in a different perspective. Stamford is a chapter I have put behind me today, but I will always appreciate the opportunities, memories, friends, and consistent support I have and continue to receive today.
