| School Reflection |
Speaking of my time at Stamford, I just have to talk about our final year. Megan and I basically lived in the counselling office, Mr. Storey was such a huge support for us, and honestly, we just loved being there.
It was around Halloween, and somehow celebrating that holiday helped take the edge off all the final-year stress. Now, Megan and I weren't exactly the most active participants in school events, but that day we had a mission. We snuck over to the design classroom to get our hands on some white cloth and let me tell you, it was a whole operation. One of us stood looking out while the other did the cutting, hahaha. At one point a teacher walked by and asked what we were doing. In full panic mode, we pretended to be lower-grade students and mumbled some awkward excuse. So, to any underclassmen who later found the design classroom short on white fabric… yeah, sorry. That was probably our fault.
Anyway, we took that massive piece of cloth and turned ourselves into ghosts, a little idea we got online. We draped it over ourselves, put our glasses on top of the fabric (because we still needed to see), and completely unintentionally we both wore the exact same shoes that day. Those shoes were the first pair that, to us, symbolized our friendship. Mr. Rutt even called us the “Dr. Martin club,” which we fully embraced.
With our faces hidden and ignoring the slight height difference, we looked like two copy-pasted ghosts. Honestly, that last year, Megan and I did cling to each other like ghosts anyway so much so that the teachers used to joke that if you found one of us, you’d find the other within five seconds.
